I don't care if I never get back...

So the last few days have been super busy. I have had 3 doctors appointments to get all squared away with my medications and have nice teeth before going away to Florida for 7 months. Yesterday I also was able to fit in one last Tigers baseball game in before I leave. I hadn't been able to get to one this season and wasn't sure the next time I would be able to go. The game also doubled as a birthday game for my Dad (June 2) and my sister (June 5). Starting a few years ago we try to go to a game for our birthdays (works since all of us were born in the summer!)

Even though they lost (like the 4 games I went to last year...) it was still a lot of fun! My mom and I filled out over 100 All Star game ballots and we got some cool prizes. I got a Torii Hunter mini bat and a winter Tigers hat. My mom won a baseball hat (she wanted a new one!) and a cool mini-duffle bag. To fill out the ballots we had to punch all these holes out and we got them all over us! My sister, her boyfriend, and my dad didn't want to fill them out, but we did it for them so we could get more prizes! They all got boring stationary sets. My mom and I definitely got the best one! I even got a picture with my future boss! I guess Mickey is a Tigers fan!

Today I worked a bit on reorganizing the things I am taking down to Florida. We also went out for my Dad's and Megan's birthday dinner. We just went to Red Robin since they both had free birthday dinners. I also got to say bye to my grandmothers since I don't know if I will have time to see them again this weekend before I leave. I also finally put my diplomas in their frames! Now I am the proud owner of two bachelors degrees!

Disney Daydreaming

So I told myself that I would be really productive today with work. I am currently working from home re-writing the General Chemistry Labs Prep Instructions. It is great since I am really flexible, can work from home, and make some extra money before I head down to Disney. However, it also means that I can get distracted easily. I wasn't really feeling well today, and I ended up reading Disney College Program Blogs a good chunk of the day.

I was a little productive getting ready to go to Disney. I went through the last few boxes from college to figure out what I was definitely taking, definitely not taking, and things I might take if I have room. I have put all of the non-clothes things into my the living room so I could put it all in one place to see how much I have. I feel like I am doing well on space and can hopefully take some extra stuff!

Well, back to watching the Tigers game, before bed.
btw-not that many people will care, but my family went to a Toledo Mudhens game last night (the AAA affiliate of the Tigers) and Jim Leyland was sitting a couple of rows behind us behind home plate. For those who don't know, Jim Leyland is the Detroit Tiger's retired manager. He is still working for the club in the front office and was sitting with some scouts. The Mud Hens lost, but one of the players scored 2 home runs and only needs 1 more to break the minor league record and my sister and I took a picture with Jim Leyland (after creepily sneaking looks back throughout the game)!

Summer Plans

With only two more weeks of classes and a week of finals before the end of the semester, I am really looking forward to my summer plans.

First off I will be heading to Vienna, Austria for a little over 3 weeks with the Hope College Vienna Summer School. I will be taking a Modern Austrian History course where I can learn the history of the country while I am there. While there, we will all be living with host families all over the city. I am super excited for this opportunity, but it feels like it is very far away instead of just over 3 weeks from now.

The fun doesn't stop after I get back to the States. My mom just informed me the other day that she bought tickets for a Tigers game the week I get back on my sisters birthday! The one downside of going to Vienna is missing out on all the cheap Tigers tickets in the month of May. I guess there is one other downside: last year I went with my dad to free Friday of the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix for his birthday and this year I won't be able to go. :( I will be flying back into Detroit that day, so I will have to miss out on the fun we had that day (including meeting some of the drivers, watching practice, and, how could I forget, standing out in the freezing rain all day. lol).

How could I forget the awesome news I got this week!?!? On Wednesday I found out that I will have the opportunity to work as a Teacher for the Detroit Zoo's Summer Safari Camp! I am REALLY excited about this. It works out so that I can stay at home this summer, relates to my major, and fits with the schedule of my other activities.

This post is getting SUPER long, so I will wrap it up with my last plans. At the end of June I will be heading to LA for an all expense paid trip to present my research at an international research conference and in July I will be going to the Train, Script, and Gavin DeGraw concert. There are a few other things that I might have up my sleeve, but I'll elaborate if/when they get finalized. I am very excited for all that is in store so I would love it if I could just get through these last few weeks. :)
